  • DEDICATE AWARD TO ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED  TINUBU & OGBENI RAUF AREGBESOLA


It was another rare feat over the weekend by the Local Government, as the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government; Comrade Ayodele Adewale was honoured by the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Okunade Sijuwade, Cfr, Olubuse 2nd at the 2nd Oba Okunade Sijuwade Annual Leadership Lecture and Awards, as the “Emerging Leader 2013 In Nigeria.”

This is in recognition of his accomplishments, personal integrity and tremendous contributions towards Nigeria development.


The event which was held at the Banquet hall, Royal Court of Ife, Ooni’s Palace, Ile-Ife attracted eminent personalities including the Former Head of state, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (Rtd), His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Abubakar Yahaya, Etsu Nupe, Her Excellency, The First Lady of Ekiti State, Mrs. Fayemi, His Excellency, Jeffrey Hawkins, Consul- General United States Consulate, Lagos and Hon. Abike Dabiri–Arewa,  Member, House of Representative, representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, His Excellency, General Adeyinka Adebayo and  Dr. Federick Faseun amongst others.


Comrade Adewale  dedicated the award to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Executive Governor of The State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for their immense role in given him the opportunity to contest and win election and developing his art of governance, as well as their resolve to entrench a virile democratic society. He noted that it was Governor Aregbesola who insisted that out of 57 councils in Lagos, the party should give an opportunity to a youth to serve.

“After GOD my creator, I give all appreciations and thanks to both Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for believing in me and standing by me throughout my administration as Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government. I also thank all members of my political party, the Legislators, Executives, Management, Staffs, my parents, friends and the good people of my Local Government for their support.” he disclosed


The Local Government boss further noted that there should be no age restrictions for any elective positions.In his words, “if the constitution made provision for an individual that is 18years to vote, what stops that same constitution to allow that same person to vie for an elective position.”
Comrade Adewale also tasked the former Head of State, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria General Yakubu Gowon and other dignitaries, “I will implore you and other eminent Nigerians here seated to have a copy of the PRONACO draft constitution to determine if truly we need a National dialogue/conference.” He further urged the Federal Government to test the popularity of the PRONACO draft constitution by going through a referendum.
