UNITED NATION’S TEAM VISIT AMUWO ODOFIN LOCAL GOVERNMENT - APRIL 2014
 
 

 



  • WE ARE IMPRESSED-LEADER OF DELEGATION

A much respected Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), “We Care for Humanity” which is endorsed by United States Congress and under the United Nations visited the Local Government recently.

The essence of the visit is to get first hand information on Amuwo Odofin Local Government which would be receiving a meritorious award at the 2nd annual “Global Officials of Dignity Award” (G.O.D) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, United States of America on the 20th of June, 2014, and also to meet with the candidates of the awards.

The leader of the delegation, Princess Amor Toress, who happens to be the founder of “We care for humanity” while speaking to journalist after the tour of projects was done with. noted that “we are really impressed and blown away with the infrastructural development including the Primary Health care Center, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Legislative Building, Climate Change Unit, and Pharmacy, amongst others, in this part of the world. It is marvelous to note that child delivery and drugs are free, the climate change unit can be compared to some developed climes in the world. I must confess this administration has touched so many lives and put smiles on their faces. Well done honourable Chairman.”

Princess Toress further emphasized that her organization will be willingly to partner with the Local Government in the health sector.

The leader of the delegation also noted that its organization is a non–profit organization that advocates amongst other things for education, health, empowerment and human rights.

Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale thanked them for the visit, noting that the Local Government is a caring one that encourages small scale businesses and practices the true tenets of democracy.

Comrade Adewale used the medium to call for a true Federal system, where every State would have the control of its resources, security, energy, and education, amongst others.

The Local Government boss also stressed the need for the adoption of the PRONACO draft constitution as a panacea to solving the myriad of problems affecting the Country.

The team later visited Senator Oluremi Tinubu at Adeniran Ogunsanyan College of Education (AOCED) who was honoured as a Fellow of the great institution.
