ADDRESS DELIVERED BY THE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN, AMUWO /ODOFIN LOCALGOVERMENT, COMRADE AYODELE ADEBOWALE ON THE SENT-FORTH PARTY ORGANIZED FOR CORP MEMBERS OF AMUWO ODOFIN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ON THE 12TH OF FEBRUARY, 2010 AT SUNFIT HOTEL, AMUWO - ODOFIN.

Good day ladies and gentlemen !

All protocol observed !

Just like yesterday, you have all completed your National Service which lasted for a whole year in this Local Goverment and I find it all joy to know that you have all diligently served your father’s land wholeheartedly.

Without mincing words, your presence at Amuwo/Odofin Local Government boosted its image for the best. As you leave for your various destinations, we at the Local Government hope that the experience you have garnered from this place will go a long way to fashioning out your career and your well earned experience would be able to equip you for future challenges in life.

You should remember that the goal of establishing this youth scheme is for intergration of various ethnic groups that make up this country Nigeria.

Having this at the back of your mind,it becomes imperative that the spirit of oneness should be embraced by all and sundry which is the cardinal point of our founding fathers that established this scheme.

The Corp members have committed their time and energy to this Local Government but is rather unfortunate that it is not within its power to employ corpers on a higher level otherwise she could have employed most of them. Lastly the administration wishes to express its delight that none of its corpers absconded from their duty post.

Also Corpers in this Local Government participated fully in the weekly environmental exercise and also assited in coordinating the populis to engage in this exercise.

The reality on ground is that there are no jobs outside there which is so glaring, thus there is need for you all to see yourselves as creators of wealth through engaging in various enterpreneural  activities. To this end, skills acquisition becomes imperative and this is being embarked upon by the Government towards encouraging youths to becoming self employed and reliance through various agencies of government.

Though your stay in the Local Government is to fulfill the mandatory national service requirement of Nigeria for graduates on or before the age of 30 years which is intended to be a unifying factor of various tribes in Nigeria, there is need to re-organize the purpose and philosophy of the founders of the scheme.

Thank you and God bless you all.

Long live National Youth Service Corps!

Long live Nigeria!

Long live Lagos State!

Long live Amuwo Odofin!

Eko O ni baje O!

Comrade Ayodele Adewale.

Executive Chairman,

Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.
