The Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh has solicited the intervention of the State government over the degrading state of the environment at Festac Extension, Mile 2 and its environs.
He said the aforementioned place  “is an eyesore and the quick intervention of the State government would save the Estate from epidemic.”
The Council boss made this known when he paid a working visit to the Estate and Primary Health Care Center Mile 2.
He stated that the visit amongst other things is to see things himself and find ways of addressing the challenges.

” I came here to see things myself because of the complaints of the residents. And as a government, we are here to represent them and look at ways to addressing  there issues.
” The issue at hand is beyond the local government but we will write to His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and intimate him of the cry of our people. We will however provide palliatives for our people before the intervention of the State government, he stressed.”
The Council Chief, who also frowned at the way some residents take the issue of environmental sanitation with levity, admonished them to be environmentally conscious.
” It is really disturbing that some of our people do not adhere strictly to a clean and safe environment. The government cannot clean the front of your house for you. The government cannot clear the overgrown weeds at your backyard. It is really annoying. I am using this medium to appeal to our people to key in to a safe, greener and clean environment,” he stated.
On his visit to the PHC, Mile 2, Lagos, the Council helmsman promised to address the issue of electricity being experience d presently and other gray areas.
