The Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh over the weekend commissioned a water project at Crystal Estate, Amuwo Odofin.
The water project was donated by The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Chapel of Life, Lagos Province 32, Crystal Estate, Mile 2, Lagos.
The Council Chief , while performing the ceremony, said that there was the need for churches to go beyond preaching and evangelism.
“By now churches should be looking beyond preaching the gospel by thinking about innovations that will be of benefit to the people.”
Engr. Buraimoh commended the church for the gesture, urging others to emulate them.
” The Church has solved one fundamental problem confronting the estate. The water project is a very laudable initiative.
” As a government, we would continue to welcome such gestures, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility to the society. We are indeed grateful to you for this gesture,” the Council Chief posited.
The Pastor-in-Charge of The Redeemed Christian Church of God,Chapel of life, Pastor Titus Animaku stated that ” this project intervention from the church is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility to the Community.
He further averred that the water project is to serve people who do not have the resources to get bore holes in their houses but are going to far away places to get water.
