The official ground breaking ceremony for the construction of Agidimo Road, Mile 2, Amuwo Odofin Local Government, one of the road listed by the Lagos State government to be constructed took place today at the site.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of the local government area, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh said when the project is completed it  will greatly complement government efforts to deliver a  system that is befitting.

“This is an exciting project, this isn’t just about roadworks; this is about creating job  opportunities for our teaming youths,” he stated.

He further noted  that the construction of the road would mark yet another milestone in the development of the local government.

” The construction of the road is one of the excellent examples of my government’s commitment to improving the social and economic well being of the good people of this community,” he averred.

While commending the State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode for collaborating with the local government for the realization of the project, the Chairman  appealed to road users and stakeholders to persevere.

He said, “We are embarking on what will be the final solution to the massive inconvenience. Businesses and residents in this axis and its environment have had to endure for a couple of years. 

“From today that we are handing over the project, the road will take 6-month to be completed. We need the cooperation of all the stakeholders. There will be some discomfort on the way but we appeal for tolerance and perseverance. It will continue to get better”, he posited.

The Apex Chairman of All Progressives Congress party,  Amuwo Odofin local government, Alhaja Memunat Ajao commended the Governor of the State and the Chairman of the local government for seeing to the construction of the road, noting that when completed it would be celebrated.

 Engr. Oladosa Bayo, Chief Executive of Bastruct construction, Nigeria Limited, the company appointed to deliver the work said, “This will bring a huge benefit to the local community. 

” The project is due for completion within a 24-week timeframe,” he affirmed.

Attendees at the event included the Vice Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Abubakar Idris; Head of Administration, Morufudeen Adedeko; Majority leader, Hon. Micheal Ojomo, Executive Members, Management Team, Party Faithfuls, CDC, Youths, CAN amongst others.
