The Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh today met with the leaders and stakeholders of the popular Amuwo Odofin Retail Market (Aroso Market) Mile 2, Lagos at the Council secretariat headquarters, Festac Town, Lagos.
The Council helmsman posited that the meeting was called to find lasting solutions to the problems the traders are facing in the market.
The Market leader, Alhaji Yusuf while speaking on behalf of his members noted that ” their lives are in danger because of the nefarious activities and bad intentions of one Mr. Saidi Abiola ( zaid 1).
Alhaji Yusuf pleaded with the Council boss to find a lasting solution to the issue at hand.
Responding, Engr. Buraimoh averred that the Aroso market building would be pulled down and a modern market will be built.
” As a government, we have been following the unfolding event in your domain. The State Government is also aware, and as a government, we will continue to ensure the protection of our people and properties.
” We are taking ownership of the market. What you have there presently will be pulled down. We will start the construction of a befitting market as from February, 2018,” he stated.
The Council Chief further tasked them to be law abiding and go about their lawful business without fear of being molested.
