Engineer Valentine Burhaimoh, the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, has called on non-governmental organisations to sustain their support for the government.
He made the call at the local government One day free cervical and eye screening with distribution of eye glasses in conjunction with Inner Wheel International, District 911, Festac Town, Lagos, held at the Council secretariat headquarters, Festac Town, Lagos.
The Council Chief urged the Inner Wheel to continue to be a partner in complementing the new administration’s effort at improving the health standard of the people.
“I commend the humanitarian gesture of the Inner Wheel for embarking on meaningful projects that touch and affect the lives of the people.”
Engr. Buraimoh assured the district of collaboration in all gender related projects and programmes.
The District 911 Chairman, Mrs. Gbemisola Rufai said the district would continue to uphold the aims and objectives of Inner Wheel.
She pointed out that the Wheel would continue to promote true friendship, encourage ideas of personal service to foster local, national and international understanding and friendship.
The highlight of the event was the distribution of eye glasses and free cervical as well as eye screening.
