NOA ON A COURTESY VISIT TO AMUWO ODOFIN LOCAL GOVERNMENT
The State Director, National Orientation Agency, Lagos, Mr. Waheed Ishola has underscored the importance of its agency in educating the general public on government development programmes, policies and activities.
The NOA State Director who was speaking when he led some management officers of the Agency on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh at the Council secretariat, Festac Town, Lagos averred that, “In its effort towards peace and national development, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has not been resting on its oars. It has diligently been discharging its mandate which includes: – to orientate, inform, educate and sensitize the public on the policies and programmes of government as well as mobilize favourable public opinion and support for government. It also engages in value re-orientation, as well as pulling together and harnessing the creative energies of the citizenry for National development”.
Mr. Ishola added that NOA has been charged to mastermind effective propagation of the ‘Change Begins With Me’ Campaign, of the Federal Government in all nooks and crannies of the country.
He advocated internal change by Nigerians stressing that no meaningful change would be recorded in the country if the people refused to first of all transform themselves.
According to him, the courtesy visit was designed by the agency to develop a synergy to collaborate and partner with all tiers of government on adequate courage and reportage of government activities.
The State director congratulated the Council Chief on his hard fought victory, stressing that he should see himself as the father of all.
He prayed that God will give the Executive Chairman the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the local government.
Responding, Engr. Buraimoh thanked the state director for his kind words of advice. He further appreciated and acknowledged the agency’s efforts towards educating the people properly on government programmes.
The Council helmsman stated that he would work closely with the agency for the benefit of the governed.
